GlossGenius Access and Appointment Troubleshooting

GlossGenius business owners and authorized staff use the app or web login to manage calendars, appointments, services, and client communications. Clients normally use a provider’s public booking page and can manage eligible appointments without signing in to the private business account.

This independent guide is not affiliated with GlossGenius.

Start by identifying the actual problem: account access, calendar availability, an appointment change, or a missing notification. Resetting a password will not fix an incorrectly scheduled appointment, and creating another booking may duplicate one that already exists.

What GlossGenius Does

GlossGenius provides private business tools for scheduling and public booking pages where clients can request appointments. Inside the account, members can manage calendars, services, teams, notifications, payments, and booking-site settings. The company’s status page tracks the private Admin area, public Booking Site, Account Login, and Client Notifications as separate systems.

That separation is useful during troubleshooting.

A client may receive no reminder even though the appointment is correctly stored. A booking page can work while the owner login is unavailable. An owner may sign in normally while client notifications experience a separate problem.

Treat each symptom on its own.

Do this first: confirm whether you are acting as the business or the client. Skip creating a replacement appointment until you have checked whether the original booking still appears on the calendar.

How Members Log In

Business owners and permitted staff can use the GlossGenius mobile app or browser login. The company’s desktop calendar instructions currently direct users to glossgenius.com/login, then into the Calendar after authentication.

A team member also needs the relevant calendar permission. GlossGenius lists My Calendar & Other Team Members’ Calendars as the permission required for editing and rescheduling appointments belonging to other providers.

That creates an important distinction:

Cannot enter the account: investigate the email, password, and Account Login status.

Can enter but cannot edit an appointment: review permissions and the appointment’s ownership.

A missing action is not always a broken login.

When every member experiences trouble simultaneously, check the status page before resetting individual passwords. Account Login, Admin, Booking Site, and notifications are reported separately.

Editing or Rescheduling an Appointment

GlossGenius supports appointment editing through both the mobile app and web browser on all subscription plans. Members can change the provider, date and time, service duration, services, address, notes, deposit requirement, and appointment confirmation setting.

In the mobile app:

Calendar > Select appointment > Edit

After changing the necessary details, tap Save. GlossGenius then asks whether the client should receive an update notification. Mobile update notifications are currently sent by email rather than text.

In the browser:

Calendar > Select appointment > Edit the required detail > Save

The browser displays a Notify Client via Email & Text option before the updated appointment is published.

This is a hands-on difference worth remembering. When the client has no email address on file, GlossGenius recommends making the change through the browser so an email and text update can be offered.

Check the contact method first. Skip telling the client that an automatic message was sent unless the notification option was actually selected.

Dragging Appointments on the Calendar

The mobile calendar supports drag-and-drop rescheduling. Press and hold the appointment card, move it to the new time, and release it. GlossGenius states that the mobile calendar snaps appointments to five-minute increments.

The browser also supports dragging appointments to a different date or time. Members can resize an appointment to change its duration.

These controls are fast, but speed creates risk. Moving a card can update the calendar immediately while the client remains unaware if the notification prompt is declined.

Review three items after dragging:

  • the correct provider;
  • the new start time and duration;
  • whether the client was notified.

A calendar move is not the same as a client confirmation.

Canceling an Appointment

GlossGenius permits cancellation from both the mobile app and web browser. In the app, open the appointment, scroll to the bottom of its details, and select Cancel Appointment. The system asks for confirmation and whether the client should be notified.

In the browser, open the appointment from Calendar and select the garbage-can icon in the upper-right area. The cancellation screen includes an option to notify the client by email and text.

Recurring appointments require another choice.

The mobile app lets the member cancel one occurrence or the entire series. The browser distinguishes between canceling the selected appointment and canceling that appointment plus future occurrences.

Pause before confirming.

Canceling a series when only one date was intended can remove future appointments. Review the client name, appointment date, and selected cancellation scope before proceeding.

Can Clients Reschedule Their Own Appointments?

Yes, when the business has enabled the appropriate online booking rule and the request falls outside its cancellation window. GlossGenius states that Allow Online Cancellation must be active for clients to reschedule appointments themselves; online rescheduling cannot currently be enabled without online cancellation.

The business also defines a cancellation window. For example, with a 24-hour window, a client can make an online change more than 24 hours before the appointment but must contact the business inside that window.

The service must also have Show on Website enabled. If the service is hidden from the booking site, the client cannot reschedule that appointment online.

No reschedule button does not automatically mean the page is broken. The appointment may be too close, the service may be hidden, or the business may have disabled client cancellation and rescheduling.

Contact the provider in those cases.

Booking Rules Apply Across a Team

GlossGenius allows businesses to configure online booking rules from the mobile app or browser. The documented settings include cancellation policies, card requirements, client cancellation and rescheduling, and restrictions such as Existing Clients Only.

For a GlossGenius team, those online booking settings apply to the whole team and cannot currently be customized separately for each member.

This can surprise businesses that want one provider to accept new clients while another accepts only returning clients. A team-wide rule may affect every public schedule.

Check the shared booking configuration first. Skip altering an individual staff calendar when the restriction originates in the team’s booking rules.

The person changing these controls also needs the Manage booking & payment details permission.

Why Clients Do Not Receive Notifications

A missing notification does not prove that an appointment failed.

GlossGenius lists two common causes: the relevant notification setting is turned off, or the client has unsubscribed from email or text notifications.

The current settings paths are:

Mobile: Features > Settings > Client Notifications

Browser: Settings > Business > Client Notifications

Scheduling notifications can be generated when clients book, submit requests, reschedule appointments, or join a waitlist. When a business cancels or declines an appointment or request, the member decides whether to send the client a notification.

Check the calendar first. Then inspect notification delivery.

This order prevents a duplicate booking from being created simply because the original confirmation landed in spam, was disabled, or was never sent.

GlossGenius tracks Client Notifications separately on its status page, including confirmations, reminders, scheduling changes, cancellations, declines, and rebooking reminders.

Changing Working Hours and Availability

A provider’s working hours determine what clients can book online. GlossGenius recently documented date-specific working-hour changes through both interfaces.

In the mobile app:

Calendar > + > Edit Working Hours

In the browser:

Calendar > Add > Edit Working Hours

Choose the specific date, mark whether the provider is available, set the start and end time, and save. The new availability then appears on the booking site.

Date-specific changes override the provider’s normal personal working hours only for that calendar date.

That is a useful diagnostic detail. When one particular day shows no appointments, inspect the date-specific schedule before rewriting the provider’s recurring hours.

Rebooking After Checkout

GlossGenius provides three mobile options for scheduling a client’s next appointment after checkout: See My Calendar, Instant Book, and Choose Another Time.

Instant Book schedules the same service at the same time and weekday in the selected future period. GlossGenius warns that this option can create a booking even when another appointment already occupies that time.

Review the calendar immediately.

That warning is easy to miss during a busy checkout. Use See My Calendar when availability is uncertain, and skip Instant Book when the provider’s future schedule has not been checked.

GlossGenius FAQ

Do clients need the GlossGenius business login?

No. They use the provider’s booking page.

Can appointments be edited on a computer?

Yes. GlossGenius supports appointment editing and rescheduling in both the mobile app and browser on all plans.

Can mobile appointment updates be sent by text?

Not currently through the mobile editing flow. GlossGenius says mobile update notifications are sent by email, while the browser can offer email and text.

Can clients reschedule without contacting the business?

They can when online cancellation is enabled, the appointment is outside the cancellation window, and the service remains visible on the website.

Why did a reminder not arrive?

The notification setting may be off, the client may have unsubscribed, or Client Notifications may be experiencing an incident. Confirm that the appointment exists before booking again.

Can I cancel one appointment in a recurring series?

Yes. GlossGenius lets the member choose between one occurrence and the wider recurring series. Read the cancellation scope carefully before confirming.

Do team members have separate booking rules?

No. GlossGenius currently says online booking settings apply across the whole team and cannot be customized per individual member.

Can Instant Book cause a conflict?

Yes. GlossGenius warns that it can schedule the next appointment even when another appointment already exists at that time. Review the calendar afterward.
