GlossGenius Access, Gift Cards, and Redemption Support

GlossGenius business members use the app or browser login to manage gift cards, appointments, payments, and client records. Clients purchase digital gift cards through an individual business’s public booking site, not through the private owner login.

This independent guide is not affiliated with GlossGenius.

The first job is identifying where the problem occurred. An owner who cannot enter the dashboard needs account recovery; a client missing a gift card email needs the business to review the sale and delivery details.

What GlossGenius Gift Cards Are

GlossGenius includes digital gift card tools within its booking and payment platform. Businesses can sell gift cards from their public booking site or during checkout, then track sales, balances, and redemption activity from the private account.

The native product is virtual.

GlossGenius currently says it does not directly support physical gift card sales, although it documents a workaround for businesses that want to produce a physical presentation alongside the digital balance.

This distinction matters at checkout. A printed card may look physical, but the actual value still needs to correspond to the gift card record managed inside GlossGenius.

Do not create an unrelated custom charge and assume it behaves like a tracked gift card.

GlossGenius says gift cards are available across its subscription plans, and the Gift Cards Dashboard can be accessed through both mobile and browser interfaces.

Do this first: decide whether you are the buyer, recipient, or business member. Skip creating another gift card when the original may simply need to be resent.

How Business Members Access GlossGenius

Owners and authorized team members enter through the official GlossGenius application or browser login. Once inside, the account can expose gift card settings, sales records, balances, and checkout actions according to the member’s role.

Use the email attached to the existing business profile. A duplicate account may not contain the original clients, appointments, gift cards, sales history, booking site, or payment setup.

A login problem and a gift card problem are not interchangeable. When the member can enter the account but cannot find a gift card sale, check the Gift Cards Dashboard and transaction history before changing authentication settings.

When the account itself cannot be opened, use the password-recovery route displayed on the official login screen. Do not send credentials or verification codes to a buyer, recipient, or third-party directory.

Account access comes first.

Enabling Gift Card Sales

GlossGenius lets businesses enable or disable online gift card sales from both supported interfaces.

In the mobile app:

Settings > Gift Card Settings > Enable Gift Cards

In the browser:

Settings > Business > Gift Card Settings > Enable Gift Cards

When enabled, clients can purchase gift cards through the business’s public booking site. GlossGenius describes the client product as a digital gift card that is delivered by email.

Check the public site after changing the setting. The toggle being enabled inside the account does not replace a client-side test.

Open the booking site while signed out and verify that the gift card purchase area appears. Then confirm that the displayed business name and design match the intended account.

Priority one is visibility. Skip promotional campaigns until the buying path has been tested from beginning to end.

How Clients Purchase a Gift Card

Clients buy through the individual business’s GlossGenius booking site. The official client instructions describe choosing the gift card, entering recipient information, verifying a phone number, and completing payment. The digital card is then delivered by email.

A typical public purchase page may allow the buyer to:

  • select a preset amount;
  • enter a custom amount when offered;
  • choose a design;
  • identify the recipient;
  • add a message;
  • provide delivery information;
  • complete the displayed payment process.

The specific amounts and designs are selected by the business or platform configuration and can differ between booking sites.

Clients should verify the business name before paying. A GlossGenius-branded page can belong to a specific independent salon, spa, or provider, and that business controls how the gift card will be accepted.

Do not use the general member login to make a client purchase.

Missing Gift Card Email

A completed sale and successful email delivery are separate events.

GlossGenius provides a Resend action that allows a business member to send the gift card email again to the original recipient or update the email address before resending.

The documented routes are:

Browser: Payments > Gift Cards
Mobile: Features > Gift Cards

From the Gift Cards Dashboard, locate the purchase, select Resend, confirm the recipient email, and send it again.

Check the sale before repeating the purchase.

The recipient should also inspect filtered and junk mail. A delivery problem does not necessarily mean the card balance was never created.

When the buyer entered an incorrect email address, the business can review the gift card record and update the address during the resend process. Do not ask the client to publish the gift card code or payment details.

Reviewing Gift Card Activity

GlossGenius introduced a centralized Gift Cards Dashboard that lets members monitor gift card sales, balances, and activity from mobile or desktop.

Use it to answer practical questions:

  • Was the gift card created?
  • What was the original value?
  • Does a balance remain?
  • Was it redeemed?
  • Was the delivery email resent?
  • Which record belongs to the buyer or recipient?

This dashboard is more useful than relying only on a client’s email or bank statement. The buyer may have paid successfully while the recipient missed the message, or the card may have been partially redeemed and still retain value.

Search carefully before creating another record. Similar client names, shared family email addresses, and multiple purchases made on the same day can make the wrong gift card look like the correct one.

One record at a time.

Redeeming a Gift Card at Checkout

Gift cards are redeemed through the business checkout process. GlossGenius groups the redemption workflow with its checkout and payment documentation, rather than treating the gift card as a client login credential.

The business should locate the correct gift card and apply its available balance to the client’s transaction. When the balance is lower than the checkout total, another supported payment method may be needed for the remainder.

Confirm three details before applying it:

  • the intended recipient or client;
  • the available balance;
  • the correct checkout ticket.

A redemption code is financial value. Do not place it in public notes, social posts, or an unprotected shared document.

Clients should present the gift card through the method requested by the business. They should not send account passwords, card security codes, or unrelated payment information.

Physical Cards and Printed Certificates

GlossGenius currently offers virtual gift cards rather than a native physical-card product. Its support material provides a workaround for businesses that want to hand clients a printed or physical item.

The physical item should be treated as presentation, not as a separate untracked balance.

Businesses need a reliable way to connect the printed certificate or card to the digital gift card maintained in GlossGenius. Otherwise, staff may accept a physical card that does not correspond to a valid remaining balance.

Avoid keeping the only record on paper. Review the Gift Cards Dashboard during redemption.

This is especially important for teams. One employee may have issued the physical presentation while another handles checkout weeks later.

Importing Gift Cards From Another System

GlossGenius says existing gift card balances cannot currently be imported from a previous service through its standard transfer process.

That limitation deserves planning during migration.

A business moving from another booking platform may transfer clients, services, inventory, and upcoming appointments while still needing a separate process for outstanding legacy gift certificates. Creating replacement cards without reconciling old balances can double the business’s liability or leave clients unable to use value they already purchased.

Export outstanding balances from the old platform before access is closed. Keep a controlled business record showing the original value, remaining amount, owner, and migration decision.

Do not copy payment-card details or other unnecessary financial data into the new account.

Priority two is reconciliation. Skip promotional gift card sales until old obligations are accounted for.

Packages Are Different From Gift Cards

GlossGenius also supports packages containing services or products. Packages are available through mobile and browser access, and team accounts use specific permissions for package management.

A package and gift card are not the same.

A gift card represents stored monetary value. A package represents a defined collection of products or services that the client can use according to the package configuration.

This affects checkout, reporting, and client expectations. A client who bought a five-service package should not be told they hold an unrestricted dollar balance unless the package was actually structured that way.

Businesses should name packages clearly and specify what they include. Skip ambiguous labels that make staff guess whether the client owns money, visits, products, or a combination.

Gift Card Sales and Business Reporting

GlossGenius separates gift card activity from some dashboard revenue calculations. Its mobile Dashboard documentation says the Revenue metric covers completed services and retail sales, including tips and taxes, but excludes gift cards, packages, memberships, and deposits.

That can make dashboard totals look lower than the day’s collected cash flow when several gift cards were sold.

Do not assume the sale disappeared.

Review the Gift Cards Dashboard and appropriate sales reports rather than relying on one high-level revenue card. Gift card accounting can differ from ordinary service revenue because the sale creates an obligation that is later redeemed.

GlossGenius also notes that payments accepted through gift cards are not included as card payments for Form 1099-K reporting, though businesses should provide complete income information to their tax professional through relevant reports.

Tax treatment depends on the business and jurisdiction. Use qualified tax advice rather than guessing from the dashboard.

Contacting GlossGenius Support

GlossGenius publishes support hours of Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern Time.

Prepare a focused description before contacting support:

  • whether the member can log in;
  • the approximate purchase date;
  • whether the gift card appears in the dashboard;
  • whether the recipient email was resent;
  • whether any balance remains;
  • the exact non-sensitive warning or error;
  • whether the problem affects one card or all gift card sales.

Do not include passwords, one-time codes, full payment-card numbers, security codes, Social Security numbers, or confidential client records.

The individual business handles its own refund and acceptance policies. GlossGenius Support is the correct route for failures involving the platform, dashboard, delivery controls, or checkout tools.

GlossGenius FAQ

Do clients need a GlossGenius login to buy a gift card?

No. They purchase through the business’s public booking site.

Are GlossGenius gift cards physical?

The native feature is digital. GlossGenius currently documents a workaround for businesses that want a physical presentation.

Where can owners enable gift card sales?

Use Settings > Gift Card Settings on mobile or Settings > Business > Gift Card Settings in the browser.

What should I do when the recipient gets no email?

Find the purchase in the Gift Cards Dashboard and use Resend. The recipient email can be confirmed or updated before sending again.

Can a business see the remaining balance?

Yes. The Gift Cards Dashboard is designed to track sales, balances, and gift card activity.

Can old gift certificate balances be imported?

Not currently through the standard GlossGenius transfer process. Businesses should reconcile outstanding legacy balances separately before leaving the old system.

Is a package the same as a gift card?

No. A package contains defined services or products, while a gift card carries monetary value. GlossGenius manages packages through separate package controls.

Why are gift card sales missing from Dashboard revenue?

The mobile Dashboard’s Revenue metric excludes gift cards, packages, memberships, and deposits. Review gift card activity and the appropriate reports instead.
